Fine older works of art are best enhanced with antique picture frames having a mellow patina acquired only with the passage of time.
Contemporary strip mall cookie cutter frame shops are unable to offer moldings that truly replicate those actually used in the past. Many of the mass produced moldings offered approach the grotesque in overblown "improvement" upon the best examples of the past. And those produced with ornament, carved or composition, are unable to meet at the corners in a satisfactory manner. And the crowning indignity, all have glaringly new or faux antiqued finishes which create an aesthetic conflict with your artwork. Even the work of todays finest craftsmen who can replicate a period frame with great accuracy (and at considerable expense), fails to have that one essential element for the true conoisseur, patina.
My mission is not just to sell frames, but to frame your artwork with a view to the best possible presentation.
With an ever increasing inventory of over two thousand frames, all sizes, styles and period, there is a good chance the frame you want can be found. I can not guarantee we will have exactly what you want, but may have what you need. At any rate, check with us first before resorting to expensive manufactured or custom made frames.
